چکیده

Abstract In this work, the experimental data are compared with version of “strong” jet (Re ≫ 1) exact Landau-Squire solution. The experiments were performed for a submerged air flowing out tube diameter D = 3.2 mm and length more than 100 at Reynolds number equal to Re 436. initial conditions in Poiseuille velocity profile, level pulsations is less 1%. Measurements carried using hot-wire anemometer. It shown that satisfactory agreement theory achieved distances from starting x/D 5.6 up zone transition turbulence ( > 35). Turbulence along axis will increase 1% 2.5%, while mixing layers it increases 4.7%.

Effect of Initial Conditions on Aerodynamic and Acoustic Characteristics of High Subsonic Jets from Sharp Edged Circular Orifice

The present work involves measurements to examine the effects of initial conditions on aerodynamic and acoustic characteristics of a Jet at M=0.8 by changing the orientation of sharp edged orifice plate. A thick plate with chamfered orifice presented divergent and convergent openings when it was flipped over. The centerline velocity was found to decay more rapidly for divergent orifice and that...

Effect of Crest Roughness on Flow Characteristics over Circular Weirs

Different construction materials with different roughness used to make circular weirs highly affect surface roughness and, in turn, flow hydraulics passing over these structures.  In the present research, numerous experiments under different hydraulic conditions were performed on a physical model to study the effects of roughness on flow hydraulics over a circular weir. The flow hydraulics incl...

Development of turbulence in subsonic submerged jets

The development of turbulence in subsonic submerged jets is reviewed. It is shown that the turbulence results from a strong amplification of the weak input noise that is always present in the jet nozzle exit section. At a certain distance from the nozzle the amplification becomes essentially nonlinear. This amplified noise leads to a transition of the system to a qualitatively new state, which ...
